Who We Are:
Classical Revolution NoCo is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching our community by making classical music as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. Our performers are professional musicians, university students, and accomplished amateurs. Many are employed by regional orchestras and ensembles including the Fort Collins Symphony, the Greeley Philharmonic, Opera Colorado, the Boulder Philharmonic, and more. Together we represent the teachers and performers in our community and our participation in Classical Revolution Northern Colorado is a form of outreach to engage the general public in listening to and talking about music.
Classical Revolution was founded in 2006 at the Revolution Cafe in San Francisco. The Classical Revolution model has spread around the world, with over 30 active chapters in cities around the US, Canada and Europe.
We want people to hear classical music in their daily lives by putting it in places where people like to go and live – in bars and coffee shops, museums and schools, on the streets and in your homes. We hope to preserve and revitalize classical music and present it in a way that helps change the way people think about classical chamber music.
Our mission is to change the way classical music is perceived and performed in Northern Colorado – we think it’s time classical music was integrated into the rest of the vibrant live music scene in Northern Colorado.
We want to break down the fourth wall between classical music performers and their audience. We believe that everyone can enjoy the universal appeal of this music that we love and should experience it in a way that is comfortable. By taking chamber music out of the recital hall, we hope to reach a broader public of people young and old from all backgrounds that will learn to love and appreciate chamber music like we do. We want to gain a new audience of classical music lovers at each concert!
