We are a Fort Collins-based woodwind quintet, comprised of professional freelance musicians and teachers who all also happen to be mothers. We strive to promote new music by living composers and collaborations with other local artists and organizations. Our goal is to introduce as many people to this fun and not-often-heard ensemble by playing in schools, galleries, churches, and anywhere else where people can be found!

We also play arrangements of tangoes, pop tunes, and standards. We also commission new works by composers to premiere in Northern Colorado.

The group consists of these fine instrumentalists:

Madera Dulce

Madera Dulce

“A lush and bohemian instrumental duo with sultry Mediterranean overtones, Madera Dulce is a rare combination of Bass Clarinet and Contrabass Guitar that elicits an inviting and elusive sound; a deep resonant acoustic tonality.”

“This unique duo paints an eclectic blend of musical artistry. With influences of the classical to the avant-garde, from improvisational ethnic and jazz idioms, of Middle Eastern and European elements, they draw inspiration from their gypsy heritage and weave it into the musical tapestry of the world around us.”
